Opening with a Holburne Up Late, Friday 25th May (6:00 – 9:00 pm)
MUSE: THE COLLECTION INSPIRES
Each year MA Ceramics and MA Fashion & Textiles students from Bath School of Art and Design engage with and respond to the Holburne Museum’s wonderfully eclectic collection, developing knowledge and skills through research, making and exhibiting.
This year nine students have each responded to objects across the museum, whether on display or in storage, delving into technique and concept through a process of selection, ‘close-reading’ and reinterpretation. The resulting exhibition explores making, form, function, beauty, translation and necessity.
In Passage, students have sited works in and around the existing collection and the exhibition is launched as a Holburne Up Late event, on Friday 25th May (6-9 pm). You are invited to experience the museum anew and locate the nine temporary additions to the collection.
Exhibition open from: Friday 25th May to Friday 8th June
